Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for PCB Soldering Technician based in Chennai. In this role, you will be responsible for assembling, soldering, inspecting, and testing Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) to meet product specifications and quality standards. This role requires steady hands, good eyesight or appropriate PPE, and a strong focus on quality and safety
Roles & Responsibilities
- Read and interpret PCB assembly drawings, bill of materials (BOM), and process instructions.
- Perform soldering operations using appropriate techniques (through-hole, surface-mount, reflow, wave soldering, hand soldering) as per IPC standards.
- Inspect solder joints for quality
- Assemble components onto PCBs, including placing, reflow, hand-soldering, and component removal/rework as needed.
- Conduct in-process and final quality checks, document results, and assist in root cause analysis for defects.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations; ensure ESD safety compliance.
- Calibrate and maintain soldering equipment (iron, hot air rework stations, reflow ovens) and report any malfunctions.
- Adhere to manufacturing work instructions, safety procedures, and quality system requirements
- Update production logs, scrap/rework records, and traceability documentation.
Qualifications
Required:
- ITI / diploma in electronics preferred.
- Proven experience min 1 to 2 years in PCB soldering and assembly in an EMS industry.
- Experience with surface-mount (SMT) and/or through-hole soldering; familiarity with
- Steady hands, good eyesight, manual dexterity, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work with limited supervision and in a fast-paced production environment
- Immediate Joiners preferred.
